Music came into my realm of interests when I was in high school. Jazz was the lure. Jazz kept me company in my studio when I was attending Cal Arts in the seventies pursuing my MFA in Fine Arts. Ever since that time, jazz and, more recently, creative improvised music, have grown on me. I have been writing about the music for just about 12 years. The music continues to impress me and those impressions are reflected in the words that I write.
